Specific schedules will be posted a few days before the event.
High Performance Information

Players: create/update your profile at University Athlete so college coaches can find you at the tournament.
Parents:  no chairs will be allowed in the Convention Center, spectator seating will be provided by each court!
Spectators:  CLICK HERE to purchase your admission wristband prior to the event.  Do not purchase wristbands for players, they will receive them Saturday morning of the tournament from their coaches.  You will be able to purchase wristbands on site.

Washington Convention Center Information (from the tournament directors):

NO COOLERS of any kind, of any size, or for any reason are permitted in the Washington Convention Center. Coolers left inside the building will be removed to the outside of the building. Coolers left outside the building are the sole responsibility of the owner, but may be confiscated if security deems them a hazard. Neither Capitol Hill Classic, Metro American VBC or the facility will assume any responsibility for coolers or providing a place for them.
 
NO LARGE BAGS, BALLOONS, CHAIRS OR OUTSIDE FOOD ALLOWED:
No outside food can be brought into the Convention Center building, not even into the lobby. This is a Convention Center rule that we must enforce as a condition of our contract; it is not our rule. We understand people don't like this, and neither do we. But we are bound by the terms of the contract and cannot negotiate this away. We apologize for any inconvenience it causes.

Tournament Summaries

Cyclones - Columbia 15's - January 22
Congratulations to BAVA Cyclones for coming in second in their Pool and advancing to the Quarter Finals at the Columbia 15’s Invitational Tournament on Sunday January 22, 2012!!  The Cyclones started the tournament against Under Armor Elite (UAE).  Cyclones won the first game 25-23 then lost the second game 22-25 only to come back strong to win the 3rd game 25-13.  The competition was tough for the second match against Delmarva Juniors.  The girls fought hard but lost all three sets (21-25, 22-25, and 13-25).  The last pool match for the Cyclones was against DCPG.  The girls came out strong and won all three sets (25-14, 25-18, and 25-9).  #21 Emily went 18 for 18 and #13 Ashton went 15 for 15 with two aces.  #6 Megan and #33 Elizabeth had solid play from the front row.  These victories landed the Cyclones tied with UAE for second place and forced a head to head tie breaker game.  #4 Kate had 4 kills and #9 Sarah had 2 kills during the match leading the team to a 25-17 victory and advancing them to the quarter finals against American 15-1. Cyclones fought hard in the quarter finals with #18 Hannah having two blocks and #8 Shannon, #14 Ani, and #15 Samantha having some great digs from the back row.  While the Cyclones weren’t victorious (12-25, 18-25), they competed hard and played very well making their coaches and families very proud.  Congratulations Cyclones!

Weekly Skill Clinics
BAVA will offer skill clinics each Sundays 1-3pm at Truxtun Park Rec Center throughout the BAVA season.  Players must be on a BAVA team to attend.  There is no cost to attend.  Please adhere to the positions and team ages below and be sure to sign up!  Ask your coach if you aren't sure which clinics you should attend!  REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR BALL!
