Scorer and Referee Certification

Each BAVA team will need to have 3-4 certified scorers and 1-2 certified referees.  This is a Chesapeake Region (CHRVA) requirement for our teams to be able to attend tournaments.  Please follow the steps below carefully to complete your certification(s).

We’ve had a couple requests for BAVA to host scrimmages for players to practice their scorekeeping.  We have come up with two time for players to practice scorekeeping:

• Thursday, Jan 5 – 8:30-9:30pm at the MD Sportsplex.  The Breakers 16’s and Riptide 17’s will be scrimmaging.  (Please be sure to bring your own scoresheets, see page 3: http://assets.ngin.com/attachments/document/0007/9798/All_Clinic_Scorekeeping_Forms_2011_final_rev.pdf)

• Sunday, Jan 8 – 8:30am-12:30pm at Northern HS.  BAVA is hosting a 16’s tournament at Northern HS (2950 Chaneyville Rd, Owings, MD).  Players and parents can come practice on a real game with real referees if they want.  Lauren Boyd will be there to help where needed.  (scoresheets will be available at the tournament)

Login to your WebPoint registration, click on "My Information" on the left toolbar.  Then click on the "Other Info" gray tab at the top.  Then click on "Official Info" (turquoise tab) to see if you are listed as a scorekeeper.  If your scorekeeper status is listed in WebPoint with a status of "lapsed" and an expiration date of 10/31/2011, it means you completed the scorekeeper process last year.
