East Coast Championships
May 24-26, 2008

Mandatory Chaperone Meeting:
Thursday, May 15, 7:30pm at the MD Sportsplex. 
All ECC chaperones are required to attend.

Hurricanes, Blaze: Monday, May 19, 8:15pm at AACS
Breakers, Riptide, Waves, Thunder: Tuesday, May 20, 7:50pm at MDSX

*All players should attend.  Parents are welcome to attend, but it is not required.


Play Information
The tournament will be held at the Pittsburgh Convention CenterEach age group will have waves, with the teams playing either in the morning or afternoon on Saturday and Sunday, then in the morning on Monday. 

Here are the starting wave schedules for each team for Saturday only.  Some teams may play in challenge matches after their pool play.  The wave schedule for Sunday play will depend on how each team finishes on Saturday.  The Sunday schedule may be the same or different from the Saturday schedule.

Play Site Information
As is true with all big tournaments, no FOOD, DRINK, COOLERS, or SLEEPING BAGS will be allowed in the Convention Center including the lobby areas and playing halls (your water bottles are permitted).  Food and drinks will be available at the concession stands.  It is recommended bringing your cooler and keeping it at the hotel.

College Recruiting
If you haven't already, please register yourself on www.universityathlete.com, it's free!  This site pulls your information and your team's schedule off of the official tournament website and feeds it to the handheld Palms of the college coaches attending the tournament so they can find you and your team during the tournament. 

Arrival
Players will be expected to arrive on Friday evening, with the time to be determined.  Upon arrival, each player and parent will find the "Check-In Parent" for their team to obtain their hotel room assignment and key.  Room keys will not be available until after 3pm (maybe later).

Mission Statement

Bay Area Volleyball Academy is a non-profit Junior Olympic Volleyball club that is dedicated to providing an exceptional developmental and competitive volleyball experience for female players in Anne Arundel County and the surrounding counties. This program is committed to the community and promotes strong relationships between players, coaches, and parents. The Academy aims to challenge athletes to achieve their potential while developing skills needed to compete at a highly competitive level. Through participation and education, the program emphasizes the values of sportsmanship, character, self-discipline, and teamwork. It is the goal of the club for each athlete to attain the satisfaction and enjoyment of playing competitive volleyball but with a perspective recognizing balance in one’s personal life.
